Robin Pommier

The light is growing dim and the air is crisp
There is a slight hint of fog creeping in
A faint echo sounds as my feet tread the cobblestone road
Stone houses stand on either side of me like silent sentinels
Soft glowing light streams from their paned glass windows
Soon they become sparse as my course winds into the nearby park
Lighted lamps dot the path as I come to a stone bridge
A cool, babbling brook rushes steadily beneath it
I pause to listen to the crickets play their nightly orchestra
Fireflies flicker in the distant trees
Like fairies gathered for their midsummer jubilee
How easily I lose myself in reverie in this enchanted ambience
Such is the magical essence of twilight
